'Everybody knew he was bad news'

Lynn Patten, right, smiles during a cruise to Alaska in early August. Patten was found strangled inside her Harmans home a few weeks later. County police say her ex-husband, Carl Lewis Patten, 49, left, is the sole suspect in the killing. He died in a fiery crash in Prince George’s County 15 minutes after her body was discovered.
