The 2nd annual Chesapeake Eco-triathlon takes place at 10 am, Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center in Grasonville. Advance registration is required.

The event is open to athletes 12 and older in the two, three, and four person team events. Individual athletes must be at least 18.

Events include a 10 mile mountain bike race, a three mile bouyed kayak course on Prospect Bay, and a four mile trail run. Teams compete as relay members in male, female or co-ed categories based on age. Individuals compete in kayaking, biking, and running, based on their own personal judgements. Athletes may bring their own kayaks or use one furnished by event organizers
