Apply For a Space Camp Scholarship - Deadline March 10

If you're anything like me, you've heard of NASA Space Camp, but you have dismissed the idea of sending your child because, well, it's pretty expensive. Not only is it in Huntsville, Ala., which isn't exactly nearby, the tuition is $799. Add it all up, and it's tough to do.
But, if you act quickly, your 6th - 9th grade child could qualify for a Space Camp scholarship, courtesy of the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC). Applications are due by Tuesday, March 10 (I did say quickly!), and you need two recommendations as well as your child's handwritten application essay.
Last year, 15 children received Bernard Curtis Brown II scholarships to Space Camp from MCEC. The scholarship was established in honor of the 11-year old son of a Navy Chief Petty Officer who died on September 11, 2001, when the plane he was on was hijacked and deliberately crashed into the Pentagon.
The scholarship includes not only Space Camp tuition, meals and lodging but also round-trip transportation from the child's home to Space Camp.
You must be the child of an active-duty military member to apply.
Don't forget, applications are due Tuesday, March 10.
