It's that time of year - the time when we are still shivering but have to think about summer activities for our children. Fort Meade is still accepting summer day camp signups; contact the registration office at (301) 677-1105 if you have questions. If you're stationed in Annapolis, you can sign up for summer camp (youth or teen) at the Billy the Kid Youth Center; call (410) 293-9396 for information about youth camp and (410) 293-4998 for teen camp information.
If you're headed south to Orlando this summer, be sure to visit your local ITT/ITR office for information about free tickets to Universal Orlando for active duty, reservists, national guard and retired military personnel as well as reduced-cost companion tickets. Walt Disney World is offering free Water Park Fun and More Park Hopper tickets to active duty members, active reservists and retired military and reservists, as well as $99 companion tickets. Sea World Florida and Discovery Cove, also in Orlando, are part of the Anheuser-Busch "Here's to the Heroes" promotion; active duty, active reserve and national guard members are eligible for up to four free one day tickets for themselves and their dependents at one Anheuser-Busch theme park. This is a great opportunity to spend time with your family at the famed Orlando theme parks.
Of course, That Certain Bunny will arrive soon, and Fort Meade is ready to celebrate. Breakfast with the Easter Bunny takes place this Saturday, April 4, at the Golf Course Clubhouse. There will be two seatings, at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. Call 301-677-1437 if you're interested. Seating is limited. On April 11, children 13 and under can bring their Easter baskets and hunt for eggs at the Child and Youth Services Building, 909 Ernie Pyle Street, at 2:00 p.m.
Flea market season kicks off at Fort Meade on Saturday, April 11, at 7:00 a.m. at the Pavilion. You can shop for bargains until 2:00 p.m. If you'd like to find out how to buy a table and sell your stuff, call (301) 677-3912. Plenty of military families are preparing for summer moves, so you'll undoubtedly find some great deals at the flea market.
