"Be Visible When Riding a Motorcycle"
Posted: May 3, 7:44 am | (permalink) | (0 comments)
I was in my car following a motorcycle just before dusk and as it become darker, the cycle disappeared in the darkness except for the single rear brake light which wasn't all that bright. It was also low which made me think about the requirement that cars must have the rear brake light high in the center, some are mounted in the rear window and some molded in the top of the roofline.
A while later I observed a bike with the rear signal lights converted to combination tail/brake/signal lamps. Mine uses a converter module plugged into the wiring harness. It was reassuring to see the the 3 lamps were more visible from behind.
LED bulbs or lamps, reflective tape on helmets, reflective tape on jackets are all an improvement and now there are readily available reflective motorcycle gloves.

I will have test results on these gloves including design, comfort, and protection next week.
