Navy Announces Recruits

Posted: July 2, 8:56 pm | (permalink) | (0 comments)

ANNAPOLIS, Md.-Navy head football coach Ken Niumatalolo released the names of the 2009

Navy football recruits on Wednesday evening as 62 prospects representing 24 states went through

induction ceremonies and began plebe summer.

“We are very excited about this incoming class,” said Niumatalolo. “We feel like we have a good

mix of linemen and skill guys and this class is one of the more athletic groups we have ever brought

in.”

The state of Texas produced the most prospects with 10, while Pennsylvania is represented by six

freshmen. Five incoming recruits hail from Florida, while four each are from Hawai’i, North

Carolina and Maryland.

Navy football season tickets are currently on sale at the Ricketts Hall Box Office, by calling 1-800-

US4-NAVY or by logging on to the web at www.navysports.com. Navy opens the 2009 campaign

on Sept. 5 at Ohio State, while the home opener is Sept. 12 against Louisiana Tech.
