Really, Jim Zorn? Really?

So if I am an embattled coach with fans and so-called experts --- cough --- calling for my job, perhaps it is destiny to be playing a team that hasn't won an NFL game since Dec. 23, 2007.

How does Zorn justify risking a go-ahead FG by going for a 4th-and-goal and handing the ball to Clinton Portis, who isn't even healthy? That call horribly exposes Zorn's inexperience and inability to call offensive plays as a head coach.

REMINDER: Zorn was not hired to coach the entire team; he was hired as the offensive coordinator.

In a recent edition of Out of Bounds, I mentioned the old Bandwagon that Tony Kornheiser conjured up in the early 1990s. I think the Redskins could use a Band-Aid more than anything.

On the heels of making a bad 4th-and-goal call on offense, one might think that Zorn would have shaken off the nerves and got his head back in the game. But he accepted a penalty against the Lions that would've made it a 4th down and a long field goal try for Jason Hanson. By accepting the penalty Zorn gave the Lions another chance at a longer third down --- end result? --- a touchdown for the Lions, who now lead at halftime.

Take a good look at these Lions, Skins fans. Their 18- or 20-game losing streak, whatever it is, might easily be the Redskins in 2011.

Pathetic!
