Monken to Statesboro?

Posted: November 24, 6:59 pm | (permalink) | (0 comments)

Very reliable sources tell The Capital that Georgia Southern has already offered its head football coaching job to Georgia Tech assistant Jeff Monken. If that is the case and Monken accepts, we wish him the best. Monken has interviewed for several head coaching positions in recent years and is more than ready to direct his own program. After a total of 13 seasons assisting Paul Johnson at Georgia Southern, Navy and Georgia Tech, there is no question that Monken has a firm grasp of the triple-option offense. He is also very polished and well-spoken... in essence he has all the attributes you would look for in a head coach.
