Navy 7, Delaware 6; 14:57 in 2nd

Posted: November 14, 4:13 pm | (permalink) | (0 comments)

Navy has dodged a bullet. The Midshipmen fumbled in their own territory and that set up the Blue Hens at the 19-yard line. However, the Navy defense rose up in the sudden change situation and stopped the visitors in three downs, forcing a 39-yard field goal by Joe Striefsky.

Wide receiver Nick Henderson appeared to miss a block on cornerback Tyrone Grant and slot back Marcus Curry paid the price. Quarterback Ricky Dobbs pitched to Curry and just as the slotback caught the ball he got blown up by Grant. End John Higginson recovered and returned the ball about 15 yards.
