Scrapbooking

Literacy program

Cell phones
Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion, Disney-Bell Post 66 collects used cell phones, which are converted to 911 use only and given to the elderly at no charge. Phones can be dropped off at the post, 9605 Old Laurel-Bowie Road, or call 301-464-9814.

Tea dance socials
Tea Dance Socials are held the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 2:30 p.m. at Bowie Senior Center, 14900 Health Center Drive. Admission is $2 or a snack to share. For information, call 301-809-2326.

Goodwill donations
Goodwill of Greater Washington has a store and donation site at Crystal Plaza Shopping Center, 12655 Laurel-Bowie Road, Laurel. Accepted daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. are clothing, furniture, housewares and working electronic items. For information, visit www.DCGoodwill.org.

Scouts recycle

Puppy raisers

Register of Wills

Tire pickup
Tires from cars and pickups will be collected only through a special pickup. Each household is permitted to dispose of only five tires yearly. To arrange for a special tire pickup, call 301-809-2344 before noon Tuesday, for that Wednesday’s pick up.

WW II lectures
William Chapman was part of the team that successfully captured the German U-Boat 505 June 4, 1944 and he is available to tell his story to students of all ages as well as Scout troops. For information, call 301-262-6596.

Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Transportation is available to Bowie residents.
