The program will include such transcriptions from the orchestral repertoire as "Festive Overture" by Dmitri Shostakovich, the Richard Strauss tone poem, "Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks," and "Finale from Symphony No. 8" by Antonin Dvorak. Spring Wild Turkey Hunt - Youth Hunt   Show/Hide details
Hunters will be selected by lottery. Lottery application forms are available on the internet at http://patuxent.fws.gov or by calling 301-776-3090. Applications must be submitted in person at the refuge's North Tract Visitor Contact Station no later than 4:00 PM, February 29, 2008. Prospective hunters must have a Maryland hunting license, MNHA hunting permit, and a hunter safety card to be eligible. Youth hunters, age 16 or younger, must be accompanied by a licensed unarmed adult age 21 or older, in accordance with state regulations. Additionally, all selected hunters must pattern their weapon, and attend a NWTF clinic prior to the day of the hunt, unless they have proof of previous attendance at such a clinic. This year's clinic is scheduled for March 15 near Odenton, Maryland. More details on the clinic will be provided to those individuals selected in the lottery that need to fulfill this requirement. Hunters will also have an opportunity to pre-arrange the services of a NWTF and/or MNHA volunteer to call in turkeys and choose hunting sites the day of the hunt.

Youth hunters, age 16 or younger, must be accompanied by a licensed unarmed adult age 21 or older, in accordance with state regulations. Additionally, all selected hunters must pattern their weapon, and attend a NWTF clinic prior to the day of the hunt, unless they have proof of previous attendance at such a clinic. This year's clinic is scheduled for March 15 near Odenton, Maryland. More details on the clinic will be provided to those individuals selected in the lottery that need to fulfill this requirement. Hunters will also have an opportunity to pre-arrange the services of a NWTF and/or MNHA volunteer to call in turkeys and choose hunting sites the day of the hunt.

The 2nd Annual Hike for Humanity is a family-friendly event to raise awareness and funds to help eliminate substandard housing in our community. The general public is invited to participate by asking family, friends and church members to sponsor them, and then coming to hike with us. All monies raised will go directly to Arundel Habitat, to support the construction of two homes for deserving low-income families. WHERE: Hikers will gather at the Marley Station Mall entrance to the Baltimore and Annapolis Trail Park and head south along the trail to the Earleigh Heights Ranger Station. Hikers will return along the same route, heading north. WHEN: Saturday May 17th ?Registration begins at 7:00 am and closes at 8:30 am. Rain or Shine. HOW: Participants can pick up entry forms from their churches or by contacting Arundel Habitat for Humanity. Entry forms are due by May 1, 2008. The entry fee is $25 for each hiker over age 12. This fee is waived if the hiker raises over $25. Free t-shirts (adult-sizes) will be available to all hikers who raise $25 or over. T-shirts will be provided at the close of the hike. ARUNDEL HABITAT FOR HUMANITY builds affordable homes with low-income families who currently live in sub-standard or inadequate housing in Anne Arundel County or southeast Baltimore City. Homeowners are selected based on annual income?$17,000 and $34,000?and contribute up to 400 sweat equity hours working on their own homes or on other Habitat houses. They purchase their Habitat houses through no-profit, no interest loans. Let's celebrate what people 'CAN DO' while living with arthritis. St. Martin's in-the-Field will hold our 8th Annual Golf Tournament to benefit the Katie Fritz Scholarship Fund on May 19, 2008 at 9:00am (shotgun start). Registration begins at 7:30am.
