Elder Law  
South County Faith Network Inc. will hold a free workshop on elder law from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 17 at the Christ Episcopal Church's Parish Hall, 220 Owensville Road in West River. Topics of discussion include financial powers of attorney and advance medical directives, wills, trusts, estate planning, social security updates, Medicare, long-term care facilities, and veterans benefits. "Seniors, Scams and Shysters" will be the topic of the program's final segment. This workshop is designed for seniors, family members, friends, and advisors who are concerned about the cost of continuing care and assisted living, making the most of Medicare and social security and simplifying estate planning. The South County Faith Network, Inc is dedicated to improving the quality of life for seniors and disabled adults in the area. Volunteers help clients through caregiver relief and visits as well as minor home repair and maintenance, grocery shopping, light housekeeping, telephone reassurance, transportation and yard work. Camp Letts Soccer Clinic

Davidsonville Dance Club  
Davidsonville Dance Club, known as DDC, is located at Davidsonville Recreation Center in the Ford's Hall building. Dance parties at DDC are the first and third Friday of each month and the second and fourth Saturday of each month. A free lesson is offered prior to the dance. Friday dances begin at 7:30 and Saturday dances begin at 7:00. Join the Club for only $10 per year, or visit as a guest. Dances cost $6 for a member or $8.00 for guests, and the warm, friendly conversation and atmosphere is free. DDC is a safe place for people new to ballroom dancing to learn to dance like the stars. Bring a food item (snack or more formal) to share if you desire. The Club offers dance classes on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. For only $50 you get two-and-a-half hours of lesson in 2 different ballroom dances. What a bargain! DDC also runs dance workshops on selected Saturday afternoons. Theater Scholarship  
Church Hill Theatre will award scholarships to two in-need youths for participation in its summer Green Room Gang youth theatre workshop. Green Room Gang involves two theatre camps. Green Room Gang Senior is for ages 10 to 17 and meets Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 18 to July 26. Green Room Gang Junior is for ages 6 to 9 and meets Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon June 30 to July 26. Both camps produce and perform their own production in which children are immersed in many facets of theatre training by professional educators and their staff. The camp concludes with three performances of the productions. Past productions have included "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe," "Seussical Junior," "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and "Go Fish and Bugs." Scholarship forms must be submitted to the Church Hill Theatre office by April 11 for consideration. The theater's Education Committee will make award scholarships based 85% on need, as demonstrated by a narrative and support materials provided by a parent or guardian, and 15% on a narrative from the child, in which kids are asked to describe why they want to participate in the camp and what they hope to get from the experience. The award status for both scholarships will be announced to all applicants by May 9. For information, call 410-758-1331.

2008 UMBC All Sports Camp  
This camp is designed for boys and girls who want an All Sports Camp on the recreational level and want to advance their skill level in a variety of sports. Teen Summer Program  
The Patuxent Research Refuge will host a Youth Conservation Corps program from June 23 to August 15 at its location in Laurel. The corps is a summer employment program for teenagers 15 to 18 years who work, earn, and learn together while participating in outdoor conservation projects. Students work full time for eight weeks and earn minimum wage. Previous work projects on the Refuge have included repairing fences, clearing vegetation, building and improving trails, and contributing to wildlife management programs. Natural Resources Club Day Camp  
The Helen Avalynne Tawes Garden, located at 580 Taylor Ave., will hold its Natural Resources Club day camp this summer. The camp is divided into five sessions that take place Mondays to Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sessions are held four weeks in July and the first week in August for children ranging in ages from 6 to 12 years. The camp is a summer program designed for children who enjoy the outdoors and are interested in nature. Campers spend Mondays in the Tawes Garden and the remainder of the week enjoying field trips to various parks and nature centers. There is a limit of 12 campers per session and children can attend only one session. The cost for children ages 6 to 9 is $140 and $160 for ages 10 to 12.
