William Clark Jr.
Retired Air Force Lt. Col. William W. Clark Jr., 87, a resident of Annapolis for five years and previously of Temple Hills, died of natural causes April 25 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Lt. Col. Clark was born Sept. 13, 1920, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., to the late Senator William W. and Estelle Clark. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids, where he was a Golden Gloves boxing champion.
He was drafted into the Army in 1942 and was commissioned and received his wings in October 1943. During World War II, he flew 32 missions over Germany as a bombardier while stationed in Horsham, St. Faith, England. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross.
After the war, he completed pilot training and was an operation officer at Patrick Air Force Base during the late 1950s.
After his military service, he opened his own real estate company, WW Clark Real Estate.
He was an instructor and chief pilot in the Andrew's Aero Club and was very active in the Andrew's Air Force Base Historic Chapel II program.
His interests included flying, bowling, watching NASCAR, doing crossword puzzles and working on cars. He loved to fix things and enjoyed learning new technologies.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine N. Clark, whom he married on Oct. 28, 1943; one son, William W. Clark III of Hillsboro, N.C.; two daughters, Linda L. Clark and Elaine Clark Aarsand, both of Annapolis; one brother, Robert D. Clark of Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters, Phyllis Ritchie of Wisconsin Rapids and Glenna Bushman of Pittsville, Wis.; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. May 8 at Andrew's Air Force Base, Historic Chapel 2.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. July 16 at Arlington National Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Fort Meyer Officers' Club. Arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater.

Elijah Herbert
Elijah Herbert, 68, a resident of Parole for 21 years and previously of Baltimore for 47 years, died of cancer April 27 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Herbert was born March 30, 1940, in Annapolis, to the late Bishop Calvin E. and Emma Herbert. He graduated from the former Wiley H. Bates High School in 1960. He received training in radio and television by Goodwill Industries of Maryland.
He worked as a radio and television repairman for private companies in Baltimore, as well as for Goodwill Industries.
He received achievement awards from I.B.U.E. and Goodwill Industries, in addition to receiving the Brooks Robinson Award.
Mr. Herbert attended King' Apostle Church in Annapolis.
He enjoyed watching TV and sports.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Audrey Herbert Matthews.
Survivors include four brothers, Mason C. Herbert of Blytheville, Ark., Raymond L. Herbert of Crownsville, Oscar L. Herbert of Churchton and Robert Herbert of Chesapeake Beach; and three sisters, Elsie Herbert Larkins of Annapolis, Eileen Herbert Baltimore of Pasadena and Carolyn Herbert James of Arnold.
Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow and at 9 a.m. Saturday at Holy Temple Cathedral, 708 Bestgate Road.
A Christian wake will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, and funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.

John Hill
John Patrick Hill, 39, of Denton, died in a car accident April 27 on Route 404.
Born June 12, 1968, in Washington, D.C., Mr. Hill was the son of John Alvin and Patricia Hoffman Hill of Annapolis. He graduated in 1986 from Annapolis High School.
Mr. Hill worked as a caregiver at the Benedictine School, as an assistant manager for Holiday Inn and, at the time of his death, he was a school bus driver for Queen Anne's County public schools.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, boating and bowling.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Amanda Jane Stone Hill; one son, Thomas Albert James Hill of Denton; five daughters, Lily Patricia Margaret, Georgianna Louise, Zoe Amanda, Caroline Elizabeth Rose and Anna Beth Leigh Hill, all of Denton; one brother, Joseph Albert Hill of Annapolis; and two sisters, Jeanne Anita Christenson of Churchton and Judith Leigh Hill of Staten Island, N.Y.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 S. 5th St. in Denton.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. May 10 in Denton Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home in Easton.
