Cookware stolen
Someone stole more than $700 worth of cookware this weekend from Pine Away at 216 Main St., city police said.
An employee told police she put a pepper mill, a salt shaker, a tray and an oil and vinegar set on display Friday. On Monday, she noticed that the items were gone although they had not been sold, police said.
The items were valued at $770.
Drug arrest
An Annapolis man was charged Tuesday with drug possession after police allegedly found marijuana in his pockets, city police said.
A concerned citizen told police about drug activity on Carver Street at about 6:45 p.m. Officers found a man matching the caller's description and asked him for identification. Then police asked him where his drugs were and the man said they were in his back pocket, police said.
There, officers found 12.9 grams of marijuana in his possession. The man told police that it was his sister's 16th birthday and he was going to give the drugs to her and to his friends, police said.
Antonio M. Gray, 19, of Parole Street, was charged with drug possession with the intent to distribute, police said.
