EDITOR'S NOTE: Political Notes is a periodic compilation of political news items.
Although recently released campaign finance reports revealed important information about who financed Republican Sen. Andy Harris' win over longtime incumbent U.S. Rep. Wayne T. Gilchrest in the 1st Congressional District Republican primary election, it also revealed some laughs.

Among the political action committees which donated $204,000 to Mr. Gilchrest were the American Association for Nude Recreation ($500), the Every Republican is Crucial group ($5,000) and the Sharp Pencil PAC ($1,000), according to federal election records.

Mr. Harris' $206,000 came largely from the Club For Growth and records revealed a few amusing names for PACs. The records did show much of his campaign was financed by out-of-state groups.
