Drug arrest

An Annapolis man was arrested Tuesday after an officer on patrol allegedly saw him holding a bag of marijuana, city police said.

At about 5 p.m. he saw police and dropped the bag as he ran, police said. Police caught him, and found the bag of marijuana and an ecstacy pill.

Anthony Drury, 24, of Hilltop Lane, was charged with drug possession with intent to distribute, police said.

Marijuana bust

An Annapolis man was arrested for drug possession Tuesday after a traffic stop, city police said.

At about 10 p.m. an officer on patrol saw a man driving into the Woodside Gardens community on Newtowne Drive. When the man saw the officer, he put the car in reverse and backed up quickly, police said.

The officer pulled the man over and found that he had a suspended license and that he was wanted on a warrant from Prince George's County on a charge of failing to appear in court to answer a theft charge, police said.

As he was arrested, officers found 50 grams of marijuana in his possession, police said.

Aaron Claiborne Golson, 32, of Riva Road, was charged with driving on a suspended license and possession of drugs with the intent to distribute, police said.

Drug bust

A 46-year-old man was arrested Thursday after police allegedly saw him involved in a drug deal on West Washington and Northwest streets, city police said.

Officers on surveillance detail saw the drug deal at about 9:30 p.m. Police stopped the alleged drug dealer and found 0.2 grams of heroin in his pocket.

Julius V. Turner, of Rosecrest Drive in Annapolis, was charged with drug possession and possession with the intent to distribute, police said.

As officers were putting him into the police vehicle, they saw him try to hide something in his mouth. An officer took the item, a clear bag containing an additional 3 grams of heroin, police said.

Officers were unable to locate the alleged drug buyer.

South County

Liquor theft

Pints of Jack Daniels and Jim Beam were among the items stolen from an Edgewater liquor store Sunday, county police said.

Officers received a call about an alarm at 3:30 a.m. and went to Cox Wine and Spirits, on the 800 block of East Central Avenue. The front door window was smashed and the door was ajar, police said. Officers noticed the cash register was open and several bottles of liquor had been taken. The total loss was $847, police said. Police are still investigating.

Severna Park

Medical thefts

Laptops and pill bottles were stolen from a medical office last week, county police said.

On Thursday, county police received a report about a burglary at Severna Park Medical Associates on Robinson Road. Workers told police someone entered their building by breaking out a window and then went into every office. Six laptop computers were stolen and an unknown amount of Ultram ER pill bottles, police said.

The pills are a narcotic-like pain reliever used to treat moderate or severe pain. Police are still investigating.

Register stolen

Someone tried to steal the register from a Severna Park restaurant Tuesday, but apparently stopped when the alarm sounded, county police said.

Shortly after 4 a.m., county police were dispatched to Hometown Hearth & Grill in the 400 block of Ritchie Highway for the report of an alarm sounding at the front door. Officers arrived and found the front door open, but no signs of forced entry.

Officers said that, inside it looked as if someone tried to grab the cash drawer, which was found closed and on the floor.

Also, a printer had been knocked off the shelf, but an investigation did not show any signs of forced entry, police said.

Officers tried to call the restaurant's emergency contacts, but were unable to reach them.
