County police said they found more than 100 grams of marijuana and 13 grams of cocaine in an Annapolis area home while serving a search warrant Tuesday afternoon.

Officers have been investigating drug sales at a home in the 300 block of Martins Cove Road off Saint Margarets Road for the past month, police said. At about 2 p.m., officers searched the home and found the drugs, along with 200 grams of fake marijuana, $202 in cash and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Sean William Simpson, 21, and Michael Walter Bowers, 17, both of Martins Cove Road, were each charged as adults with possession of marijuana and cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacturing and distribution of cocaine, and other related offenses.

Two girls, ages 15 and 16, were each charged on juvenile citations with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and released to their parents.

Clothing taken

Someone stole clothes from a dryer Monday at a laundromat on Hillsmere Drive, city police said.

The victim told police she put her laundry in a dryer at 4 p.m. and set it for 30 minutes. She returned to the laundromat shortly after 4:30 p.m. and discovered all of her clothing was gone, police said.

The clothing was valued at $699.00.

Fake bill found

A fake $10 bill was spotted at Westfield Annapolis Monday, county police said.

A manager at Chick-fil-A told officers that she was counting the money that was taken in on Saturday when she noticed the counterfeit bill.

The quality of the bill was poor and could be easily identified as fake, police said. There was no suspect information or surveillance video that would have captured a suspect.

Officers contacted the U.S. Secret Service Agency, which said it would not investigate further unless that was additional fake money or a known suspect. The fake bill was placed into evidence at the Southern District Property room.

Money missing

Charges will be filed against a Westfield Annapolis mall worker who stole cash from her store register for several months, county police said.

A loss prevention officer, Daniel Capurata, launched an investigation in cash register shortages at Macy's. He reviewed several videotapes and saw that a 20-year-old female employee was present each time a register was short, police said.

He confronted the woman last weekend, who admitted to taking about $900 over the last few months. She agreed to pay the money back and said she took it because she is trying to provide for her family. Mr. Capurata said he will go to the District Court Commissioner to seek charges.

Thefts from cars

At least four cars were tampered with at Annapolis Harbour Center Saturday, county police said.

At 8:41 p.m., officers went to the Verizon store at 2500 block of Solomons Island Road to investigate a report of thefts from cars.

Stephanie Nicole Rusk told officers that at 1:30 p.m., she parked her 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse behind the South Moon Under clothing store.

When she left that evening, she noticed her car was unlocked and the glove box was open, police said. She also noticed that her $300 Pioneer CD player faceplate had been stolen.

Another motorist, Brandon Lee Jordan, said he parked his vehicle in that area. He told police that the driver's side window of his 2002 Cadillac had been smashed out, police said. Mr. Jordan's CD case containing about 50-100 CDs had been stolen.

Their cars were among four in the same area that had been tampered with in some way, police said. Officers canvassed the rear parking lot and had negative results.

West County

Motel scuffle

An Odenton woman was assaulted at a motel Sunday after she argued with another woman about money, county police said.

Maria Ivonne Martinez told police that, shortly after 4 p.m., a woman known by the name of "Reds," stopped by her room at the Royal Inn, 1630 Annapolis Road, Odenton.

They talked about who owed money and how much, then the other woman pushed and grabbed Ms. Martinez, police said. Witnesses told police that they saw the woman push and slap Ms. Martinez.

Ms. Martinez told officers she gave the woman $20 and she left the room, police said. Ms. Martinez was able to identify the woman from a lineup and police are seeking assault and burglary charges against her.
