Obituaries for May 18 recognize: Linda Minor and Agnes Roe.

Linda Minor

Linda K. Minor, 66, of Gambrills and previously of Waldorf, died of cancer May 14 at the Tate Hospice House in Linthicum after an illness lasting eight months.

Mrs. Minor was born Aug. 6, 1941, in Kentucky to the late Ralph and Ruth Jones Samson.

She was a former supervisor for Humana Group Health, then worked as a caregiver for Morningside Assisted Living in Waldorf for ten years.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church in Millersville, and she enjoyed reading, knitting and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Minor.

Survivors include two daughters, Dawn Dixon of Gambrills and Sheila Goldsborough of Prince Frederick; one brother; two sisters; and four grandchildren.

A memorial Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 101 Cecil Ave. in Millersville. Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham. Arrangements are by Hardesty Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.

Agnes Roe

Agnes Anna Roe, 89, of Edgewater and previously of Canaan, Vermont, died of natural causes May 13 in her home after a brief illness.

Mrs. Roe was born May 6, 1919, in New York to the late Peter and Ersula Graniskis.

She worked as the assistant to the administrator for the Census Bureau in Suitland until she retired in 1981.

She spent 15 years enjoying Canaan and enjoyed showing family around the area. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed their visits. She also enjoyed traveling, playing with her Pomeranians, cooking and sharing her recipes.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 40 years, Robert Edsel Roe, in 1981; and one son, Robert D. Roe Sr.

Survivors include two sons, Richard C. and Randall G. Roe Sr.; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1041 Route 3 N., Gambrills, MD 21054 or to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
