Someone stole more than $6,000 worth of auto parts Tuesday from the S&S Auto on Lincoln Drive, city police said.

The person broke in and stole clamps, meters, copper tubing and pipe, one $20 bill and a 40-gallon trash can, among other items, police said.

Assault reported

A man allegedly assaulted a 30-year-old woman Monday inside her Betsy Court home, city police said.

The victim told police that a man she knew came into her apartment without permission and started an argument. Then the man spit on her and brandished a handgun, police said.

She told the man she was calling the police and he ran away, police said.

Police are investigating the incident.

West County

Man robbed

A China Sea Restaurant employee was robbed Monday night while making a food delivery in Severn, county police said.

At about 10:30 p.m., the driver was making a delivery in the 8100 block of Meade Village Road, when he pulled up to a house and asked a man outside if he had ordered food.

When the man told the driver he had placed the order, the employee got out of the vehicle, two men walked up from behind and told the driver they had a weapon, police said. The three men grabbed the driver, searched all of his pockets, snatched his wallet and ran away. Officers searched for the men using a helicopter and police dogs, but could not find them.

The robbers are described as black, from 17 to 20 years old. They were wearing dark, hooded sweatshirts, one with a white stripe.

Carjacking attempt

A teenage boy sprayed a woman in the face with an unknown liquid Saturday during an attempted carjacking in a Severn shopping center, county police said.

At just after 7:15 p.m., she was opening the door of her vehicle outside the Super WalMart at 407 George Clauss Blvd., when the teenager tapped her on the shoulder from behind and sprayed her. She screamed and the teen ran across the parking lot, police said.

Officers searched the area, but could not find him.

He is described as black, about 5 feet 2 inches tall, with light skin and short hair. He was wearing a white shirt with a black design and khaki shorts.

Vehicle tampering

A Baltimore man was arrested Sunday morning after county police said they caught him tampering with vehicles in an Odenton community.

At just after midnight, police were called to the Seven Oaks community to investigate a report of a man trying to break into vehicles parked on Falling Brook and Rainy Spring courts.

At the scene, police saw a man crouched down next to a vehicle and arrested him.

While investigating, police learned the man had broken into several vehicles parked in the community.

James W. Hyatt, 37, of North Central Avenue, was charged with two counts rogue and vagabond and is being held at Jennifer Road Detention Center in Parole on $15,000 bond.

Additional charges are pending.

Robbery attempt

A man was struck in the face with a stick during an attempted robbery outside his Severn home Sunday night, county police said.

At about 11:15 p.m. he had just left his house in the 1700 block of Carriage Lamp Court and was sitting in his car when three men walked up to him and demanded money, police said.

When the man told them he didn't have any cash, one man struck him on the face with a stick, cutting the bridge of his nose. They ran in an unknown direction.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene and was not taken to the hospital for his injury.

Police, including a helicopter and K9 unit, searched the area but could not find the group.

They are described as black, from 20 to 30 years old. Two were wearing all dark clothing. The third was wearing a gray sweatshirt.
