Man assaulted
A 16-year-old was arrested Monday for allegedly assaulting a 20-year-old man from Burnside Street, city police said.
The victim told police he was at the park at Edelmar Court and Garden Gate when the teen, who he said he did not know, approached him and made threatening statements. The victim said he tried to avoid a confrontation but the teen picked up a wooden fence post and hit the victim with it repeatedly, police said.
The victim followed the teen on foot until police arrived. The 16-year-old from Martha Court was charged with assault, police said.
Assault arrest
An Annapolis man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly beat up his girlfriend, city police said.
The 25-year-old victim told police her 42-year-old boyfriend punched her repeatedly and put her in a choke hold. When she tried to leave the apartment on Hilltop Lane, he blocked her path and wouldn't let her get out, police said.
Roberto Medina of Hilltop Lane was charged with assault and false imprisonment, police said.
Missing money
Someone stole more than $3,000 from Middleton Tavern overnight Sunday, city police said.
The manager told police the money was taken from the Market Space tavern between 11 p.m. and about 1:30 a.m. He said he noticed it was missing when he came in to open the tavern at about 9 a.m., police said.
Piggy bank stolen
Someone stole a piggy bank containing about $10 in coins from a residence in the Glenwood High-Rise, city police said.
The victim told police the pig-shaped bank was taken between July 7 and Saturday. The red bank with white polka dots was valued at $20, police said.
Armed robbery
An Essex man was arrested Friday night after he allegedly assaulted and attempted to rob two people as they walked on Spa Road, city police said.
The victim told police he was walking on Spa Road near Silopanna Road with his girlfriend just before midnight when someone jumped out of the bushes and jumped on his back. The man tried to choke the victim, wrestling him to the ground.
The man eventually let go and ran away on Silopanna Road, police said. Police found a man matching the alleged attacker's description nearby.
Justin L. Caldwell, 26, was charged with attempted robbery and first- and second-degree assault, police said.
Electronics stolen
Someone stole more than $4,000 in electronics, clothing and cash overnight Thursday from an apartment on Graff Court, city police said.
The victims told police the apartment was broken into between 2 p.m. Thursday and about 2 p.m. Friday. The burglar took two plasma TVs, a game system, a computer, a DVD player and various clothing and cash, police said.
Credit card fraud
Someone used a Dewey Drive resident's credit card information Saturday to make purchases on several online dating sites and an online flower store, city police said.
The victim told police she noticed 10 questionable transactions on her credit card Saturday, including ones for Match.com, True.com and eHarmony.com, and one for a purchase from 1-800-Flowers. The total fraud amount was more than $600, police said.
Drug arrest
A city man was arrested Monday after he allegedly was seen with drugs near Clay and Pleasant streets, city police said.
Officers saw a group gathered near the intersection at about 12:10 a.m. When they approached the group, they smelled burning marijuana and saw a half-smoked marijuana-laced cigar on the ground near the group, police said.
One man said the cigar was his, and he was arrested. During the arrest, officers found six individual packages of marijuana weighing about 1 gram each in his pocket, police said.
Samuel B. Joyce, 19, of Obery Court, was charged with drug possession with the intent to distribute, police said.
Man robbed
A 19-year-old man was robbed by three or four other men Tuesday as he walked on Belle Drive, city police said.
The victim told police he was walking just after 10:30 p.m. when the group of men approached him and attacked without warning, punching and kicking him. They rifled through his pockets and took his cell phone, wallet and keys before running away, police said.
Copper stolen
Someone stole more than $4,500 worth of copper last week from a boat at the Severn Avenue boat yard, city police said.
An employee of Engineered Marine Systems Inc., who owns the boat, told police the copper cabling was taken from the boat between 7 p.m. Thursday and noon Friday.
The boat wasn't damaged in the theft, police said. The copper was of various gauges and colors and several thousand feet of it was taken, police said.
Jewelry stolen
Someone stole more than $1,500 worth of jewelry July 9 from a home on Melrob Court, city police said. The victim told police the burglar took a necklace, three bracelets and two men's rings.
The victim said they didn't know how or when the items had been taken, police said. The apartment was under construction at the time.
South County
BP attendant robbed
Two men entered a BP gas station in Davidsonville with a gun Saturday and demanded money, county police said.
Officers received a call at 4 a.m. about an armed robbery at the gas station at 551 Central Ave. The cashier told officers the men had a black handgun and demanded money, but he locked himself in the booth and refused to help them, police said. The men ran to a nearby vehicle and drove west on Central Avenue in a dark colored sedan.
West County
2 people robbed
Two people were robbed shortly after they parked in front of a building in Laurel Friday night, county police said.
The victims told police they pulled into a parking space at the 200 block of Red Clay Road at 11:46 p.m. when a man approached and displayed a handgun, police said. They were ordered to the ground and told to empty their pockets, when a second man approached and took their property. The men ran to a parked dark colored Lincoln and drove off.
North County
Woman robbed
A woman was assaulted and robbed Thursday by a man who flagged her down and asked for directions in Pasadena, county police said.
She was driving on Bar Harbor Road about 12:40 p.m., when a man waved her over near the entrance to Rock Creek Park. He went to her passenger-side window and asked for directions, walked to the driver's-side window, told her he had a gun, and to hand over her purse, police said.
He struck her on the face, snatched her handbag and ran toward Fort Smallwood Road. He was last seen running into a wooded area behind a CVS store at that intersection. Officers with police dogs searched the area but couldn't find him.
Police said he is Hispanic, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a medium build. He is in his early 30s, and was wearing a dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
