Worker robbed
An Annapolis construction worker was beaten up and robbed just a few blocks from his home on Tuesday night, city police said.
The 19-year-old man was found injured and lying on the grass in the 1700 block of Belle Drive near Bywater Road at 10:38 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
Witnesses told police three or four people approached the man, punched and kicked him, took items from his pockets and ran off. The man, who lives nearby on Brightwater Drive, was missing his cell phone, wallet, keys, bank card and $58 in cash. He was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Two arrested
Two people were arrested early Monday morning after they refused to quiet down following a confrontation on an Annapolis street, police said.
Two groups of people were yelling at each other at the intersection of Calvert and West streets at 2:36 a.m. on Monday, city police said.
An officer asked the groups to move along. One group did, but the other group didn't, police said. They wanted to argue about who started the confrontation, according to a police report.
After police told three times to move along, police then attempted to arrest a woman in the group. She put up a fight and ultimately had to be forced to the ground to be handcuffed. Once handcuffed, she refused to walk to the police car and had to be pushed to the car, police said.
Meanwhile, a man in the group had been hanging around and had to be told repeatedly to back off, police said. He, too, was arrested.
Erica L. Gardner, 27, of 177A West St. was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and hindering police. James B. Hoffman, 26, of 406 Duvall Lane was charged with hindering police.
Pizza man robbed
A pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint in Annapolis late last night, city police said.
The Pizza Boli's employee was making a delivery to Silopanna Road at 11:37 p.m. when two men jump out from the shadows, pointed a gun and demanded money, police said. The men got $400 and ran off, police said.
Officers later figured out that the food order was bogus and just a set-up for the robbery.
