Vicki Adams-Brenner

Vicki Rene Adams-Brenner, 43, formerly of Severn, died of complications from a recent stroke July 17 in York, Pa.

Ms. Adams-Brenner was born Jan. 19, 1965, at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska to retired Army Capt. Elcie Adams of Severn and Marguerite J. McCloskey Adams of Columbia. She graduated from Meade High School in 1983.

She served briefly in the Army.

A trained electronic technician, she was also an accomplished musician and songwriter despite her poor health.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Brenner, in 2006.

Survivors include one daughter; several stepchildren; her stepmother, Charlene Curtis-Adams of Severn; three sisters, Audrey Bigelow of Springfield, Va., Krystie Herndon of Bloomington, Ind., and Regina Adams of Milwaukee, Wis.; her grandparents, Zelda Storman of East St. Louis, Ill., and Walter R. Bryant of Fort Washington; and several stepgrandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Cavalry Chapel, 8465 Simmons St. and 6th Armored Cavalry Road on Fort George G. Meade.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road in Brentwood. Arrangements are by Reese and Sons Mortuary.

William Fleming

William Leroy Fleming, 90, a resident of Arnold for 60 years, died of natural causes July 19 in his home.

Mr. Fleming was born Feb. 22, 1918, in Shippensburg, Pa., where he was raised.

He was a retired railroad engineer for the Penn Central.

He was a lifetime member of the Arnold Elks Club. He loved to play tennis and enjoyed boating and fishing.

Survivors include his companion of 22 years, Mary B. Smith; one daughter, Susan Ann Wirth; and three grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. Interment will be in Parkwood Cemetery.

Teresa Murray

Teresa C. Murray, 79, a resident of Crownsville, died July 18 at Bayview Hospital.

Mrs. Murray was born Aug. 18, 1928, in Scottsbluff, Neb., graduated from the University of Nebraska and attended the Corcoran School of Art.

She moved to Washington, D.C., during World War II, and lived in University Park for 42 years before moving to Crownsville. She worked for 10 years at the Hartke Theater at the Catholic University of America.

She enjoyed hosting her large family in her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married in 1950, George E. Murray; one daughter, Angela Murray; one brother, Jerome Cain; and two sisters, Kathleen Coolbaugh and Ellen Cain.

Survivors include five sons, Michael, Timothy, Daniel, Patrick and Brendan Murray; four daughters, Molly Murray, Colleen Lyon, Margaret Lamarre and Tara Perry; two brothers, James and Dennis Cain Sr.; two sisters, Jeanne Slovenkay and Margaret Mary Cain; and twelve grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 Crain Highway in Bowie. A funeral Mass will be offered at 3 p.m. tomorrow at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave. in Millersville.

Leon Smith

Leon Smith, 76, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, died July 15 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a long-term illness.

Mr. Smith was born July 4, 1932, in Annapolis to the late Waverly and Hattie Smith. He attended county schools.

He served in the Army from 1950 to 1952.

He was a short run truck driver for Dailey Kotzin Warehouse, and after numerous years of service he retired. He then went to work for Deerfield Adult Day Care as a driver.

Mr. Smith enjoyed watching television, fishing, gardening, cooking, and sports. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Braves, and the former Baltimore Colts.

He was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Jones; five brothers, Edward, Emmett, Charles, Alfonso and James Smith; and four sisters, Margo Smith, Katherine Jerald, Marion Glenn and Elon Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Sharps Smith; one daughter, Shelia Smith of Lothian; one brother, Robert Smith of Annapolis; three sisters, Louise Williamson, June Boyer, and Joanne Trader, all of Annapolis; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Reese and Sons Mortuary, 821 West St. A Christian wake is at 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Bestgate Memorial Park.

William Troumbley

William G. "Bill" Troumbley Jr., 56, a retired lieutenant colonel in the Missouri National Guard and a 14-year resident of Edgewater and previously of Lee's Summit, Mo., died of heart failure July 16 at Arlington, Va., Hospital Center.

Lt. Col. Troumbley was born Feb. 4, 1952, in Independence, Mo., to Virginia Troumbley and the late William Troumbley Sr.

He joined the Missouri Army National Guard in 1972 as a private, attended Officers Candidate School and was commissioned a second lieutenant in 1974. Later, as a major in the Guard, he served in the Facilities and Contract Construction Management Office from 1983 through 1987. During the mid-1990s, he worked in operations and maintenance, and was responsible for developing automated programs to track funding transactions for the states and territories.

As a result of his special skills, he was assigned responsibility in 1995 for the Guard's Installations Status Report and Service Base Costing Programs. His most recent assignment was as manager of the Management Assessment Profile Program.

He was a member of the Chesapeake Christian Fellowship Church in Edgewater.

Survivors include his wife, Adora "Jing" Troumbley of Edgewater; two sons, Robert Troumbley of Greenwood, Mo., and Michael Troumbley of Green Bay, Wis.; and one sister, Jennabeth Settle of Lee's Summit.

Funeral services will be held at 7 tonight at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship Church, 377 W. Central Ave. in Davidsonville. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home.

Betty Woodall

Betty J. Woodall, 81, of Riviera Beach for 20 years and previously of Fort Myers, Fla., died July 18 at Future Care Chesapeake in Arnold.

Mrs. Woodall was born Nov. 29, 1926, in Baltimore and graduated from Catonsville High School in 1943.

A beautician, she owned Betty's Beauty Salon in Glen Burnie for over 25 years.

She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 29 in Odenton, and enjoyed fishing.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Johnny Woodall; and one brother, Lloyd Lilly Jr.

Survivors include one son, John W. Woodall of Annapolis; one daughter Deborah Minghini of Baltimore; two sisters, Sally A. Lilly of Catonsville and Dorothy Kiss of Ellicott City; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road in Pasadena.
