David Blair

David Parker Blair, 46, a resident of Annapolis, died Aug. 5.

Mr. Blair was born Feb. 19, 1962, in Washington, D.C., to Brenda Xander of York, Pa., and the late William Benjamin Blair.

He loved the beach, the water, boats, fast cars and his three dogs. His favorite places were Florida and Annapolis.

Survivors include one brother, Robert Blair of Manassas, Va.; and one sister, Christine Riggleman of Shrewsbury, Pa.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday at Manassas Church of the Brethren, 10047 Nokesville Road in Manassas, Va., where a memorial service will be held at noon. Arrangements are by Pierce Funeral Home.

Harold Jennifer Jr.

Harold Jones Jennifer Jr., 86, of Annapolis died of complications from myelofibrosis Aug. 12 at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.

Mr. Jennifer was born March 3, 1922, in Washington, D.C., and graduated from Washington's Dunbar High School in 1939. He earned a bachelor's degree in physical education in 1947 and a master's degree in education administration in 1948 from Springfield College in Massachusetts. He played football, basketball and baseball.

He worked as the physical director at the Druid Hill YMCA, then served as district supervisor of the Baltimore Bureau of Recreation for 14 years. In 1964 he was appointed assistant director at the Baltimore Civic Center, and in 1966 was promoted to executive director. He retired in 1976, but continued to work in real estate in Annapolis.

He served in the Army during World War II as a second lieutenant, organizing recreation programs on the bases where he served.

He was the national president of the Guardsmen Social Club, was president of the International Auditorium Managers Association, chairman of the Druid Hill YMCA Board of Directors, and a member of the Maryland Physical Fitness Commission and Morgan State University Foundations Board and trustee emeritus of Springfield College, where he received the Tarbell medallion.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Ruth Riley Jennifer; and one son, Harold Jennifer III.

Survivors include one son, Clinton Jennifer of Columbia; one sister, Jean Brooks of Washington, D.C.; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 23 at March West Funeral Home, 4300 Wabash Ave. in Baltimore.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Morgan State University, Development Office, 1700 East Cold Spring Lane, Baltimore MD 21251, with Sonny J./Iota Phi Theta Scholarship Fund on the memo line.

George Rinard Sr.

George T. Rinard Sr., 77, a resident of Rockview Beach in Pasadena for 50 years, died Aug. 14 at Mercy Medical Center after a long illness.

Mr. Rinard was born Dec. 30, 1930, in New Jersey to the late Emily Elizabeth Shuey and Ellis Buddington Rinard. He was a child at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked by the Japanese on Dec. 7, 1941.

Mr. Rinard worked for Westinghouse in Linthicum, which later became Northrop Grumman, for 37 years. He retired in 1999.

He served as a medical corpsman for the Navy during the Korean War, retiring in 1954.

He enjoyed working in his workshop, fishing, tending to his vegetable garden, and spending time with family and his dog.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Barbara Rinard; one son, George "Tom" Rinard Jr. of Pasadena; two daughters, Cathy Bellarin of Pasadena and Patty Severin of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Barbara Maceriouwski of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; and six grandchildren.

Internment was private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, 1815 Bay Ridge Ave., Annapolis, MD 21403.

Diana Ward

Diana J. Mullinix Ward, 56, a resident of Arnold for 33 years, died in an automobile accident Aug. 16 in Stevensville. A full story ran in yesterday's edition of The Capital.

Mrs. Ward was born Nov. 14, 1951, in Olney and was raised in Sunshine.

She worked as an administrative assistant with Dynasplint in Severna Park.

She was a member of Severna Park Woman Golf League, and enjoyed golfing, shopping, travelling and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Survivors include her husband of almost 12 years, "Buck" L. Ward; three sons, Robert Price of The Woodlands, Texas, Brian Price of Annapolis and Zachary Price of Odenton; one step-daughter, Andrea Ward of Arnold; two brothers, Greg Mullinix of Lisbon and Glenn Mullinix of Mt. Airy; and three grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
