Alan Lippincott
Alan Walz "Trapper" Lippincott, 62, of Annapolis died of cancer Sept. 21 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Lippincott was born March 4, 1946, to Stanley "Skillful" and Helen Walz Lippincott. He graduated from Palmyra High School in Palmyra, N.J
He grew up in and around Lippincott Boat Works of Riverton, N.J., where he worked with his uncles and cousins.
He later joined Lippincott Sailing Yachts on the Eastern Shore, then worked in boat sales and deliveries for The Yacht Group. He joined Boaters' World after moving to Annapolis, and retired earlier this year.
He served in the Navy for two years, including two years in Vietnam as a gunner's mate and a member of the Navy's elite Special Forces with a River Assault Group.
An accomplished sailor, he competed for more than 40 years in the Star class and also raced in Lightnings as both skipper and crew and in the big-boat class.
He was known for his sense of humor and willingness to offer help and share information and techniques.
He was a member of Eastport Yacht Club, the Annapolis Star Fleet, and the International Star Class Yacht Racing Association.
Survivors include his former wife, Parmelee "Happy" Biggs Lippincott; three sons, John A. Lippincott of Nashville, Tenn., Charles Zuschnitt of Ocean View, N.J., and Michael Zuschnitt of St. Michaels; two brothers, David S. Lippincott of Palm Bay, Fla., and Paul T. Lippincott of Chester; and four grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at Eastport Yacht Club, 317 First St. Arrangements are by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home.

Sherry Marin
Sherry M. Marin, 78, of Annapolis died Aug. 29 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Mrs. Marin was born Feb. 1, 1930, in New London, Conn., and graduated from the former Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va.
A homemaker, she was a proud Navy wife and volunteer.
She is preceded in death by one son, Johnathan Marin.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Retired Navy Capt. William T. Marin; one son, William T. "Chip" Marin Jr. of Titusville, Fla.; one daughter, Claudia M. Shull of Springfield, Va.; one brother, Larry McEwen of Walnut Creek, Calif.; one sister, Connie Dorsey of New Haven, Conn.; and two granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 15 at the Naval Academy Main Chapel. Guests attending the service should enter the Academy through Gate 8 at Route 450.
Interment will follow in the Naval Academy Columbarium; arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home.

Lloyd Moreland
Lloyd Frederick Moreland, 68, of Lothian, died Sept. 22 at Southern Maryland Hospital.
Mr. Moreland was born Dec. 26, 1939, in Lothian to the late Lloyd and Reba Moreland.
He retired in 2001 from the Prince George's County Public Schools, where he worked for 30 years.
He was an active member of Apostolic Faith in Christ Church in Brandywine, where he sang in the choir.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Moreland; several siblings; and one granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Moreland; three daughters, Joyce Savoy, Toni Butler and Tanya Moreland; and two sisters, Martha Cooke and Reba Easton; and five grandchildren.
A Christian wake will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Union Bethel AME Church, 6810 Floral Park Road in Brandywine. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Arrangements are by Reese and Son's Mortuary.
Rosalie Waldron
Rosalie H. Waldron, 91, of Edgewater and formerly of Gambrills, died of cancer Sept. 25 at Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood.
Mrs. Waldron was born Oct. 25, 1916, in Carterville, Ill., to the late Grover and Chloe Hampton. She graduated from Carterville High School and the University of Southern Illinois.
She worked for the Air Force at the Pentagon for 29 years.
Mrs. Waldron volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Caring Collection for 20 years and was a member of National City Christian Church in Washington, D.C., and the First Christian Church in Alexandria, Va.
She loved the Redskins, traveling, and playing cards and bingo.
Mrs. Waldron was preceded in death by one son, Michael Waldron; and one brother, Howard Hampton.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Dubin of Edgewater; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater. Interment will be in Carterville, Ill.
