CROWNSVILLE - Two people were bitten by a wild snake at the Maryland Renaissance Festival last night, county Fire Department officials said.
At just after 6 p.m., paramedics were called to the first aid station at the Crownsville Fairgrounds in the 1800 block of Crownsville Road, said Division Chief Michael Cox, a county Fire Department spokesman.
A woman had apparently picked up a wild snake and was taunting her boyfriend with it when both of them were bitten - one of them was bitten on the arm, and the other on the hand, Chief Cox said.
Both were taken by ambulance with minor injuries to Anne Arundel Medical Center in Parole. Chief Cox did not know what kind of snake bit them.

Man arrested on drug charges
ANNAPOLIS - A city man who was already under house arrest was arrested again Saturday after city police said they found 136 grams of marijuana in his pocket.
At about 5:30 p.m., officers were called to Bens Drive for the report of two men smoking drugs in front of an apartment building.
When they arrived they found men who matched the caller's description, and an officer asked one of them to stand. The officer saw a large bulge in his front pocket, pointed to it and asked what was in it. The man then smacked the officer's hand away and said "don't."
The officer arrested him, charging him with assault, but the man tried to push past him and another officer. He was handcuffed.
Officers found five large sandwich bags containing smaller plastic bags full of marijuana, police said.
Ellis Matthews, 20, of Bens Drive, was charged with drug possession, possession with intent to distribute and second-degree assault, police said.
At the time of his arrest, he was wearing an ankle monitor because he was on house arrest. He has multiple prior arrests and it is unclear for which he was on house arrest.
He is scheduled for criminal trials on gun charges, failing to obey a lawful order and trespassing on three separate occasions. All the hearings are scheduled for December.
