ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — Police have released the names and a photograph of two young girls whose bodies were found in a basement freezer in Calvert County.
Montgomery County police say they have tentatively identified the girls as Jasmine Nicole Bowman, who would be 9 now, and Minnet Cecila Bowman, who would be 11.
The identification was made by a family friend. It is considered tentative because it doesn't meet the official standards of the medical examiner's office. However, police say they don't expect the information to change once autopsies are completed.
Renee Bowman, the girls' adoptive mother, is suspected in their deaths. She is charged with abusing a third adopted daughter, who was 7 when she was found Sept. 26.
Police believe the deaths occurred in Montgomery County, where Bowman previously lived.
