West County

Woman injured

At 11:45 p.m. Friday,a woman driving an SUV crashed the vehicle, shearing a telephone poll at the intersection of Route 175 and Burns Crossing Road in Gambrills, said Anne Arundel County Fire Department Battalion Chief Matthew Tobia.

Tammy Marie Campbell, 40, of Gambrills, was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious but non-life threatening injuries. She was treated and released, shock trauma officials said.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Severna Park

Truck fire

A pickup truck fire, considered to be accidental, destroyed the $9,000 truck and its contents valued at $10,000, said Chief Tobia.

At about 5 p.m. Saturday, county firefighters responded to a dwelling fire at 1199 Asquithpines Place in Severna Park, but found the pickup in a blaze.

Firefighters kept the fire from spreading to the adjacent house, said Chief Tobia, but it destroyed the truck and items such as computers and some cash.

"Twenty-two firefighters responded, which is the standard response in a dwelling fire, and brought the fire under control within 15 minutes," he said.

North County

Shots fired

Two Glen Burnie apartments were damaged by gunfire Oct. 7, county police said.

At 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to the 7600 block of Elvaton Road, and they found two apartments in that area that had been damaged by gunshots.

Shortly before midnight, police received several calls for gunfire heard in the area.

There were no injuries and the investigation is ongoing.

Robbery

A woman was put in a headlock and robbed by two men while walking Oct. 8 in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Hanover, county police said.

At about 9:15 p.m. she was walking to her vehicle from the Wal-Mart near Arundel Mills Mall when two men walked in front of her and turned to face her.

One of the men put her in a headlock and held her as the other man dug through her pockets in search for cash and valuables, police said. The woman screamed and the men ran away empty-handed.

They jumped into a small, dark sport utility vehicle and drove out of the parking lot. Officers searched with police dogs and by helicopter but could not find them. The woman was not injured.

Man stabbed

A man was stabbed during a domestic argument in a Glen Burnie parking lot Oct. 8, county police said.

Officers were called to the 100 block of Warwickshire Lane at just before 8 p.m. and found a man in front of an apartment building with a knife wound to his chest.

His friends identified two men involved in the stabbing, and police are investigating. The friends said that after the stabbing, the men drove away in an older-model green car with a dent in the passenger side.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious injuries, said Capt. Debbie Bowen, a county Fire Department spokesman.

Police said the stabbing was not random.

Seriously though
Jeff, You are probably correct. I rarely get information here. The Sun, WTOP, WMAL, WMAR, and WBAL all publish the descriptions of criminals. This paper did in fact publish a sketch of the Mall robber the other day which is very rare. Just a bone thrown to the dogs but I'll keep my hopes up.

Crime Info
Paul, perhaps you could submit a FOIA request daily at the police department and post the results on your blog? You could start your own "Anne Arundel's Most Wanted" site since you don't seem to get the information you require here.
