The Capital, the daily newspaper for Annapolis, Anne Arundel County and Kent Island, Maryland. It also publishes the
Maryland Gazette twice a week for residents of Glen Burnie, Maryland and surrounding areas of northern Anne Arundel County.
The company also publishes four free-distribution papers. The Bowie Blade-News serves Bowie, Maryland. The Crofton News-Crier, West County Gazette and South County Gazette serve specific areas of Anne Arundel County.

Archived stories are also accessible and printable at any Anne Arundel County Library computer for free. You must visit the library location to use this service. Once at the Library, click on ARCHIVES and scroll down to the paper of your choice, click on it and follow the directions.
The Annapolis location of the county public library has archives on microfilm back to 1976. Paper copies of each edition are available for about the previous eight months, depending on storage space. Call ahead to make sure they have a certain date’s edition at 410-222-1750. If they don’t have the paper copy, they can take your request as a reference request and find the article, mail or fax it to you, at their discretion.
The North County library branch has the Maryland Gazette on microfilm back to January 1987. They have paper copies for about the last six months.
A Web site that offers newspaper articles is NewspaperARCHIVE.com. Follow directions to purchase old articles from any number of newspapers available, including The Capital.
The Maryland State Archives, 350 Rowe Boulevard, Annapolis, has The Maryland Gazette, The Evening Capital and The Capital back to 1727 on microfilm. There is staff on hand to help find whatever might be needed. Some older issues are missing due to damage or lost copies when filming took place.
