During the 2008 football season, Capital-Gazette Newspapers staff members and a weekly guest will take their chances at predicting the winners of scholastic games as well as those of Navy and Maryland.
Staff members making weekly predictions are: Gerry Jackson, sports editor, The Capital; Bill Wagner, staff writer; Mike Peters, staff writer; Avi Creditor, sports editor, Maryland Gazette; and Bob Hough, freelance writer.
Last week’s guest, Annapolis boys basketball coach John Brady, correctly predicted 6 of 13 games for a .462 percentage.
This week’s guest is Joe Gross, former sports editor and columnist at The Capital. Gross worked at The Capital for 35 years, covering everything from high school sports to the pros. He was the Naval Academy beat writer for 29 years. Gross, who retired from the paper last year, now hosts a Saturday afternoon radio show on WBIS (1190-AM).
