State wine sales continue to climb
Marylanders bought 19 percent more wine in fiscal year 2006 than they did the year before.
Recent figures released by the state comptroller's office show the increase generated more than $10.5 million in sales. "This shows the amazing strength of the Maryland wine industry and its benefits to the rural economy," Carol Wilson, president of the Maryland Wineries Association and proprietor of Elk Run Vineyards in Mt.
