While many are rushing out the door to wrap up their work week in Washington on Fridays, Gary Oster can often be found walking around barefoot in his Annapolis home.

Gary Oster used to endure long commutes to Washington. Now he is more productive working from home on Fridays because he has no interruptions.
The senior vice president of business development for the Travel Industry Association, Mr. Oster works from his "virtual office" that day to avoid the "horrible" commute in and out of the nation's capital.
