Hoteliers cautioned last night that raising the tax on hotel rooms to one of the highest rates in the nation would backfire, discouraging ourism and crippling Annapolis' bed and breakfast industry. Find Us On Facebook
Hotel owners from Annapolis to the BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport corridor warned the County Council during a hearing that increasing the tax from 7 to 10 percent would lead to even lower occupancy rate and possibly cause layoffs for hundreds of hotel employees.
