A female patient returned to Anne Arundel Diagnostics after an ultrasound failed to pinpoint the problem in one of her breasts.

TOP: Karen Scott, director of AA Diagnostics Breast Imaging Center looks on as Dr. Mark Radowich, MD, explains the new digital imaging mammogram machine. She was given antibiotics, but still complained of redness and inflammation. On another visit, radiologists gave her a breast MRI using a new piece of specialized digital equipment, which unlike the ultrasound, was able to examine the breast from several different angles. The "relatively unique" high-tech imager immediately flagged a cancer that had been developing, and she was immediately referred for treatment.
