Thousands of new vehicles that would have cruised their way to Marylanders' driveways a year ago are now stalling at local dealer lots, in tune with the trend that dealerships are experiencing nationwide. With today's economy, once-potential buyers are now worried about whether they'll keep their jobs, be able to pay for gas or qualify for a car loan. Peter Kitzmiller, president of the Maryland Automobile Dealers Association, said new car sales in the state are down more than 10 percent for the year.
