Regulators give environmental OK to LNG plantPublished 12/07/08
BALTIMORE (AP) — A proposed liquefied natural gas terminal near Baltimore cleared a key regulatory hurdle Friday when the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission concluded it would not be too harmful to the environment.
The environmental impact statement issued Friday by FERC staff clears the way for the five-member commission to vote on whether to approve the project. The statement concludes that the facility "would have mostly limited adverse environmental impact," citing its proposed location in an industrial port setting.
