The city government is offering a free certification program to highlight environmentally friendly restaurants.
Restaurants will earn certification for practices as varied as buying local or organic food, recycling used fryer oil, printing on both sides of paper, saving water and educating customers.
"I think it's going to be a big hit," said Maria Broadbent, an environmental program coordinator for the city government.
