Hanover Wal-Mart remodels, hires 70Published 06/09/09
As many businesses cut back and some close, Wal-Mart keeps trucking along. With sales that continue to grow, the company is remodeling about 70 percent of its existing stores based on customer feedback, including the location at Arundel Mills. "Right now, your drivers in retail are food and electronics," said Edwin Ortiz, manager of the store in Hanover. "That's where the money's at now." Construction on the 142,000-square-foot store began on April 26 and is expected to wrap up by July 1, when the store will have a grand reopening ceremony.
