When Dr. Richard Garden sought out livestock to raise on his rural property in Davidsonville, he settled on goats because he thought they'd be friendly and easy to care for.

Brian Knox with one of the goats owned by his business partner, Dr. Richard Garden. The two have a new business, Eco-Goats, that offers goats to chew away unwanted vegetation.
Eco-Goats, a Davidsonville business that rents out the goats to clear away overgrown vegetation.
He and his wife Shannon initially envisioned breeding the goats and selling the offspring.
That is until inspiration struck his friend, a forestry expert: The goats would do a bang-up job tearing out invasive vines and bushes.
The forester, Brian Knox, advises Garden on managing the trees on his 50-acre property. They tested the goats on Garden's property and a few neighboring properties.
The results were impressive and a new business...
