Big-ticket holiday gifts still popularPublished 12/13/09
With a stagnant housing market, soaring deficit and unemployment rates that keep rising, the economy is tough.
By Sharon Lee Tegler - For The Capital
Even in the struggling economy, there is still a market this holiday season for giving big-ticket gifts like this Jaguar luxury car. Yet luxury sales are picking up. Anne Arundel County has remained somewhat insulated from the economic turmoil and there still are six-figure earners who can afford to spend more this holiday. The economic divide - 2009-12-13 09:53:46
The people that can afford these type of gifts have earned their money and deserve to enjoy the fruits of their labors. Surely their good fortune can make some bitter in times that are tough for the majority. But the less fortunate need to look up to the rich as they epitomize what this great country has to offer to those of us willing to take responsibility for our own lives and work toward making our lives better.
Even those recently laid off due to the economy or facing a loss of a house should use the material comfort and luxurious lifestyles of the wealthy as a motivator. When life gave them lemons, the true american, the wealthy patriot makes lemon aid. This is the basis and the foundation of America.
God Bless America
