ANNAPOLIS - Several programs in the state designed to bolster growth in green jobs in manufacturing, construction, environmental technology and solar energy last week received a $5.8 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor.
The money will help the state reach its goal of creating at least 100,000 green jobs by 2015.
The project will involve partnerships among businesses, community colleges, labor apprenticeship programs and the One-Stop Workforce System, according to a release.
