This Bud's not for you, baby

The novelty baby bottles were supposed to be gag gifts, according to the local business' now-defunct Web site.

For $19.99, someone could buy two plastic, 16-ounce baby bottles with working nipples that resembled bottles of Budweiser and Miller Lite.

"You guys know this is for fun, right?" read a cached version of the Web site, which featured several pictures of the "Bunwiper" and "Little Tikes" bottles.

Anheuser-Busch, however, isn't laughing.

The maker of Budweiser filed a lawsuit March 8 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against Greg B. Jones and his...

Supreme Court almost always upholds - 2010-03-16 12:24:56

While AK is correct, it is obviously an infringement of the trademark, it is not an illegal infringement. Because the SCOTUS has seen this type of case numerous times, they have developed guidelines including: the likelihood that plaintiff will enter the product market of the alleged infringer under the same mark (Budweiser selling novelty baby bottles) and evidence of actual confusion between the two products. Because this is Anheuser-Busch, they will have unlimited capital to fight this battle and babybeerbottles.com will probably lose. But precedent says they are in the clear.

Who to Root for Here? - 2010-03-16 12:12:39

"high-quality and superior products the public has come to expect from Anheuser-Busch"??

Anyone had a Busch light? Yetch.

Seriously, its parody. Nobody runs after the "Lawn Doctor" and asks for his PhD. As long as there's a clear difference then its a protected right. I'm not going to cry for babybeerbottles, sounds like a dumb idea in the first place but its just another corporate giant picking on the (really) little guy.

This was obvious infringement. You could see it coming from a mile away.
