Severn Bancorp, parent company of Severn Savings Bank, FSB, reported that it returned to profitability in the second quarter, posting $593,000 in net earnings compared to net loss of $6.9 million in the same period a year ago. Net income for the first half of the year was $65,000, compared to an $8.2 million loss in the first six months of 2009.
