Owner says pubs, brews an emerging concept

Mike Carter, who started Annapolis Ghost Tours seven years ago, has different spirits in mind for the new tours he's debuting.

In two weeks, Mike Carter will begin a beer tour, allowing consumers to try an array of local and regional brews at a few of downtown Annapolis’ oldest and most popular bars. Carter’s Historic Pub Crawl, another new addition to his tour business, began last month.
Two weeks ago, he began the Historic Pub Crawl, a tour of Annapolis' many old taverns downtown. For $20 per ticket, Carter and his guides regale visitors with the stories behind each of these locations, including McGarvey's Saloon, Galway Bay, Sly Fox at Reynolds Tavern and Middleton Tavern.
The stories range from the pub that once was a brothel run by the town sheriff to the stomping grounds of George Washington before he was the nation's first president.
