When Steve Anstett saw 500 homeless men and women waiting outside of the Baltimore Rescue Center in East Baltimore, he was filled with both joy and heartache. As executive director of Giving Back Inc., he was thrilled to help, but he knew what they were waiting for: Supplies such as blankets and clothing to help them survive on the streets.
"It was exhilarating to see that they depended on us and we could help them, but saddening to see that there are that many people who are homeless," Mr. Anstett told students at Annapolis Area Christian School.
