Residents near Bay Ridge Road won one battle only to lose another.
After years of fighting development on the congested thoroughfare, the community welcomed a 6-acre project with the caveat they could help design it and choose the tenants. Last week, the County Council rejected a proposal that would have made it reality.
The fate of the land called the Samaras property remains uncertain. But residents, angry they reached a "landmark" agreement that went nowhere, launched an e-mail campaign this weekend aimed to reverse the council's decision.
