Historic hotel robbed

A clerk was left bound in an office chair after the Historic District hotel where he works was robbed early Monday morning.

At 1:19 a.m. a man went into the Governor Calvert House on State Circle and held a hard object to a 62-year-old employee's head. "Don't move. I don't want to shoot you. Get in the back and open the safe," the man told the clerk, police reports said.

The man led the employee down a hotel hallway to an office, where he ordered him to open a safe. When the employee said he didn't know the combination, he was ordered to call somebody who did. The employee then told the robber that he could have the money from the...
