Familiarity a big plus for Navy grad during triathlon

Familiarity with the geography, the course and with the Annapolis area weather proved invaluable to Naval Academy graduate Tommy Brown in yesterday's Annapolis Triathlon.

The 22-year-old arrived atthe finish line at the 50-yard line of Jack Stephens Field in Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium a comfortable 18 seconds in front of second-place Andrew Yoder, an 18-year-old from Columbia, Pa. The event consisted of a 1.5-kilometer swim, followed by a 38-kilometer bike ride and then a 10-kilometer run.
