Local pastor heading to violence-torn Kenya on mission tripPublished 02/06/08
The Rev. Nolan Henson's cell phone doesn't stay holstered on his right hip for long. Every few minutes another urgent call comes in.

Annapolis resident Pastor Noland Henson, leader of The New Life Church in Hanover, stands in the sanctuary of the 100-member church. Despite the ongoing violence in Kenya, he is still planning to lead a two-week mission to the West African nation on Feb. 11. He is holding books he plans to distribute during his trip.
Long laid plans for a mission trip to Africa are crumbling under the weight of cataclysmic events unforeseen just five weeks ago. And each call foreshadows another person cancelling their participation.
Along with three other area ministers, he's spent many months organizing "Kenya 2008: Impact Conference," at the Uhuru Park in Nairobi, Kenya. It is a three-day gathering of nearly 3,000 ministers from throughout Africa. By early December, the Rev. Nolan Henson,...
