The same principle held true at the Chesapeake Chefs Association's ninth annual Chef's Signature Gumbo Competition Sunday at the DoubleTree Hotel in Annapolis.
The calypso beat of favorite local band Mama Jama coaxed revelers clad in colorful Mardi Gras beads and festive headgear to the dance floor at the far end of the room.
