Gabi Lanzoni and her friends have learned some of their most important lessons recently after the school day has ended.
Although the St. Mary's Elementary School sixth-graders wear a school uniform during the week - a white polo and navy plaid skirt - the 'tween girls still feel plenty of pressure from peers, the media and popular culture in general about how they should look day-to-day.
Instead of getting twisted in knots over body image and fashion trends, the girls have learned in an after-school enrichment class called "Finding Your Own Style" to develop their own style sense and push back against...
